Estimated Time to Placement-Ready

8-12 weeks, depending heavily on target company tier — service companies (TCS, Infosys) realistically need 2-4 weeks of focused aptitude/basic-coding prep, while FAANG/top product companies need 3-6 months of DSA-heavy preparation. Phase 1: Foundation and Resume (Week 1-2)

Understand the full hiring funnel: resume screening → online assessment → technical rounds → HR round → offer
Build and audit your resume — one page, ATS-friendly, STAR-format project bullets with measurable results

Phase 2: Aptitude and Reasoning (Week 2-5)

Quantitative aptitude: time & work, time-speed-distance, percentages, probability, permutations & combinations — and speed (70-90 seconds per question is the real target)

Verbal ability: reading comprehension, error identification

Red Flags to Avoid

❌ Applying to companies without researching their actual interview focus — service companies and FAANG test very different things, and prep should reflect that
❌ Treating the HR round as a formality — it can and does eliminate candidates, especially on communication and genuine self-awareness
❌ Practicing aptitude questions untimed — the real test has strict time pressure, and untimed practice doesn't build that specific skill
❌ Generic resume bullets ("worked on a project") instead of specific, measurable ones
❌ Only preparing DSA and neglecting CS fundamentals — OOP/OS/DBMS/Networks questions show up constantly in technical rounds, especially round 2 onward
