JEE Mathematics Overview

Mathematics is 100 marks in JEE Main and 120 marks in JEE Advanced. It is considered the highest-scoring subject for top rankers — the differentiator between rank 1 and rank 100.

Syllabus

CLASS 11 TOPICS:
  Sets, Relations, Functions: domain, range, types of functions, composition
  Trigonometry: identities, inverse functions, equations, heights and distances
  Algebra: complex numbers, quadratic equations, sequences (AP, GP, HP)
  Permutation and Combination, Binomial Theorem
  Straight Lines and Conic Sections (circles, parabola, ellipse, hyperbola)
  Limits, Continuity, Differentiability (introduction)
  Statistics and Probability

CLASS 12 TOPICS:
  Relations and Functions, Inverse Trigonometric Functions
  Matrices and Determinants: operations, inverse, solving systems
  Continuity and Differentiability: chain rule, implicit, parametric
  Applications of Derivatives: tangents, normals, maxima/minima
  Integrals: indefinite, definite, area under curves
  Differential Equations: variable separable, homogeneous, linear
  Vectors: dot product, cross product, scalar triple product

JEE MAIN FREQUENCY:
  Calculus (Integration + Differentiation): 25-30 marks
  Coordinate Geometry (circles, parabola, ellipse): 20-25 marks
