What to Know Before Starting This Guide
This is the "job listing" page for the academy — it tells you which combination of the other six technologies each real career path or exam is actually asking for. The prerequisites here are awareness of what this academy covers, not deep mastery of every technology yet.
Required (Must Have)
1. At Least a Working Overview of the Other Six Technologies
•You don't need to have completed every technology in this academy, but Overview's framing ("this page is the job listing that tells you which combination of those tools each specific career path or exam is actually asking for") assumes you know roughly what's in the toolbox — Foundations, Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Flight Mechanics, Orbital Mechanics, Spacecraft Systems — even if you haven't mastered each one yet
•If you're using this page to decide WHICH technologies to prioritize (a legitimate way to use it), that's fine — just know the GATE AE weightage table in Fundamentals assumes basic recognition of each subject area's name
2. Basic Arithmetic (for the Scoring Calculations)
•Overview's ISRO written-test scoring example (Part A negative marking, Part B weighted scoring) is arithmetic, not advanced math — comfortable fraction and percentage calculation is all that's required
Nice to Have (Speeds Up Learning)
Clarity on Your Own Target (Government vs. Private, India vs. International)
This guide's three pathways (ISRO/DRDO government route, GATE AE academic/PSU route, private space industry) have genuinely different preparation strategies — having at least a tentative sense of which you're aiming for (even "I'm not sure yet, comparing options") makes the material more actionable, though the guide is written to be useful for exploring all three.
Any Programming/Scripting Experience
Installation sets up a small Python-based exam-scoring calculator — prior scripting experience in any language speeds this up, though it's a simple enough script to follow either way.
What You Do NOT Need
•A completed engineering degree or current student status — this guide is useful for planning at any stage, from "considering this field" through "actively preparing for an exam"
•Prior exam experience (GATE, ISRO CRB, or otherwise) — Overview and Fundamentals introduce exam formats from zero
•Specific knowledge of current company names, notification cycles, or exam dates going in — this guide, and its explicit volatility tagging, exists precisely so you don't need to already know this before arriving
Time Estimate
If you have the prerequisites above:
•Overview + Fundamentals: 1 day (this is a reference/planning guide, not a technical skills guide — reading time dominates over practice time)
•Ongoing: real exam preparation (GATE AE, ISRO CRB) is a multi-month undertaking in its own right, well beyond this guide's own scope — this guide orients you toward what to prepare for, not a substitute for that preparation
