"My predicted score from Intermediate's model doesn't match my actual mock-test score"

The effective-rate model assumes a UNIFORM accuracy rate across every section and every question attempted — real performance is rarely uniform (stronger in Aerodynamics, weaker in Space Dynamics, say). Use the model per-section with each section's own realistic accuracy estimate rather than one blanket number across all five, for a materially more accurate prediction. Also confirm the mock test used the same negative-marking scheme (-1/3 for 1-mark MCQs) — some practice platforms use a different or no negative-marking scheme, which will not match this model's assumptions.

"My GATE score from Advanced's normalization formula doesn't match what I actually received"

Confirm you used the ACTUAL published Mq and Mt for your specific paper/category/session-year, not the illustrative Mq=25/Mt=65 values used in Advanced's worked example — those were explicitly flagged as illustrative, not real published constants. Also confirm your marks (M) were already session-normalized if you sat a multi-session paper year — GATE's process normalizes marks BEFORE this score formula is applied in multi-session years, so using raw un-normalized marks for M when the paper had multiple sessions will produce an incorrect result.

"I'm not sure whether to trust the negative marking break-even table from Installation, or the effective-rate formula from Intermediate"

They aren't in conflict — Installation's break-even table answers "at what raw guessing-accuracy probability does blind guessing on a single question stop being worth it," a per-question decision tool. Intermediate's effective-rate formula answers "given an assumed OVERALL accuracy across an entire section, what fraction of marks do I expect to keep." Use the break-even table for individual in-exam guessing decisions, and the effective-rate formula for pre-exam score planning and target-setting — they're two different tools for two different moments in exam strategy, not competing methods for the same question.

"Space Dynamics keeps showing up as the lowest-weighted GATE AE section — should I deprioritize it entirely?"

No — Fundamentals' study-time weighting already accounts for its lower marks share (6-8 marks, the lowest of the five core sections), but "lowest-weighted" is not the same as "safe to skip." A candidate who scores zero in Space Dynamics still loses those 6-8 marks outright, which can be the exact margin between qualifying and not qualifying in a competitive cutoff year. Deprioritize STUDY TIME proportionally (as Fundamentals already recommends), not coverage entirely.

"This guide's score-prediction model doesn't account for General Aptitude — is that a gap?"

Yes, correctly noted — Intermediate's model deliberately covers only the 73-mark five-section CORE (Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Structures, Propulsion, Space Dynamics), not the separate 15-mark General Aptitude section or the ~15%/13-15-mark Engineering Mathematics component (covered on aerospace-foundations' own Certification page). For a full personal score prediction, apply the same effective-rate formula separately to General Aptitude and Engineering Mathematics using their own accuracy estimates, then sum all three totals for a genuine full-paper prediction.
