Common Setup Issues
Scoring calculator gives an unexpected total
Check that each question category is using its correct marking rule — 1-mark MCQ uses -1/3, 2-mark MCQ uses -2/3 (not -1/3 again — this is a common mistake, applying the same penalty fraction to both MCQ categories when GATE actually scales the penalty with the question's mark value), and NAT/MSQ uses no penalty at all.
